A blend of tradition, technology, and a vision for the future of olive growing
My name is Ivo Cetinić, and for over two decades, I have been developing websites and digital solutions.
My journey with the internet began in 1997, when I first encountered web design and graphic tools like Adobe Photoshop 5.5. Over the years, I gained experience working in the IT sector and creating dozens of websites, following the evolution of the internet from Web1 through Web2 to the current Web3 era.
At the same time, olive growing has always been a part of my family. I inherited my great-grandfather's olive grove, and my desire was to improve the way its production is tracked and to ensure accurate data for each olive tree — from planting to processing.

As a Proof of Concept (P.O.C.), I created an ASA NFT for the first olive tree, demonstrating that the idea is not only theoretically possible but also practically feasible.
For now, my focus is on Croatia and its olive growing industry, where I see a great opportunity for digitalization.

From tree to bottle — digital traceability
By studying new technologies and following the development of blockchain, with the help of AI tools, I explored the best ways to apply Web3 technology in olive growing.
After testing various options, I decided on Algorand and Algokit, which offer fast, secure, and environmentally friendly blockchain solutions.
The concept of blockchain traceability is already being successfully applied in various parts of the world. I found inspiration for Olea Digitalis in projects that use blockchain for complete transparency in the food industry:
Digital platform for agriculture
Transparency of the olive oil industry
Blockchain traceability of olive oil
Croatian portal Maslinar.com
Largest Italian consortium uses Algorand
✅ These examples confirm that blockchain technology is not the future – it is already being used to ensure transparency, authenticity, and product traceability.
Combining these insights with my own experience in web development and olive growing, I developed Olea Digitalis, a project that allows olive growers to easily:
The project's goal is not just personal application, but also the creation of a BaaS (Blockchain as a Service) solution for other olive growers and oil producers.
I am currently working on an Android application that will allow for easy data entry from the olive grove – including information on planting, maintenance, harvesting, and processing.
The long-term goal is to create a fully decentralized solution that will use IPFS for data storage and a DApp instead of a traditional mobile application.
I plan to open my own business to offer this service to olive growers and oil producers, enabling them to digitize their production.

Vision of the future — Web3 and olive growers
Although the initial focus is on olive growing, this traceability system can be easily adapted to other branches of agriculture, such as wine, honey, and other food products where authenticity is key to customer trust.
The name Olea Digitalis comes from the combination of Olea europaea – the Latin name for the olive tree – and the digital approach brought by blockchain and Web3 technologies.
